South- North Cooperation: Re-discovering Latino America from the UK
Since moving to the UK, Cecilia re-discovered Latino America and her roots from a different perspective. In the past 6 years, she learnt to value even more the struggles and contribution of the Latino Americans to global change processes: from participatory policy-making, to action-learning models based on Paulo Freire’s teachings, ground-breaking transitional justice experiments and solidarity campaigns shacking the fundamental wrongs of the current global order.
Inspired by this re-encounter with her professional and personal background, Cecilia decided to start organising a series of events and initiatives aiming at re-discovering with many others… the Latino America influence and gifts to the world.
The first initiative will be a Forum to document short stories from the British campaigners and Latinos in the UK who joined and supported the “Solidarity Campaigns” with Latino America during the 70’ and 80’- dictatorial times in the region.

Redescubriendo Latino América, del Reino Unido
Desde que se trasladó al Reino Unido, Cecilia re-descubrió América latina y sus raíces desde una perspectiva diferente. En los últimos 6 años, aprendió a valorar aún más las luchas y la contribución de los latinoamericanos a los procesos de cambio global: desde la elaboración de políticas participativas, modelos de acción y de aprendizaje basado en las enseñanzas de Paulo Freire, a los experimentos de justicia transicional innovadoras y las campañas de solidaridad para transformar los problemas fundamentales del orden mundial actual.
Inspirada por este reencuentro con sus raíces profesional y personal, Cecilia decidió comenzar a organizar una serie de eventos e iniciativas destinadas a re- descubrir con muchos otros … la influencia Latino América y sus regalos al el mundo.
La primera iniciativa será un foro para documentar historias breves de los activistas británicos y latinos que en el Reino Unido que se unieron y apoyaron las “campañas de solidaridad” con Latino América durante los años 70 ‘y 80’-tiempos dictatoriales en la región-.
